C & D Book Show

My portrait of underworld figure Mark Brandon ‘Chopper’ Read was shortlisted for Outstanding Portrait at the inaugural Kennedy Awards for journalistic excellence in New South Wales. The awards are in honour of legendary police and crime reporter Les Kennedy, who died a year earlier. I had worked with Les at both News Ltd during my cadetship and again later at The Sydney Morning Herald on many stories.

Tamara Dean took out the prize but at least I got drunk.

Master pastry chef Adriano Zumbo on the cover of the Sydney Morning Herald’s renowned food supplement Good Living 15 May 2012. Zumbo and others were photographed by myself and a few colleagues for Chefs Ink.

My third time photographing Ms Emily Barclay, with whom I share a birthday, this time with director Simon Stone for the cover of the arts supplement Spectrum, in the 28 April weekend edition of The Sydney Morning Herald.
